Out on the river
I’ve been watching the world go by – Reflective stance, relaxing, waiting for something
With time to consider
All the faces I’ve left behind – Sentimental, has he lost someone, is he moving on?
Out on the river
I’ve been swimming towards the light – Looking for hope
Alone on the river
But there’s stars in the sky tonight – Look up, find hope
Chorus 1
I’m praying these weary arms of mine
Will keep me above the water line – Being positive for the future
The ebb and flow of river and stream – The ups and down of life are tough, be strong
Waits not for those who merely dream – Stay positive, keep 'swimming'
*This Verse is about girls*
Out on the riverI’ve been watching the fish swim by – Keep your options open
They say that there’s more out in the sea - There’s someone for everyone
But there’s nothing that’s caught my eye – Keep looking for her
Out on the river
I’ve been singing a song all night
I’m trying to deliver
All the melodies in my mind – Wants to share feelings with someone
Chorus 2
I’m praying these weary arms of mine
Will keep me above the water line - Being positive for the future
The ebb and flow of river and stream - The ups and downs of life are tough, be strong
Waits not for those who merely dream - Stay positive, keep 'swimming'
I’m praying the hope within my heart
Will light the way should it get dark - Believing in something will get you past the bad times
The ebb and flow of river and stream
Waits not for those who merely dream

After begging his parents for a guitar from an early age, Phil Baxter finally got what he wanted when he had just turned 11. As the years went by, he developed a love of thrash metal and dreams of being a rock star. After several years of playing along with old Metallica albums, he decided it was time to learn to play for real, so he moved to London to study guitar full time. This had the inadvertent effect of exposing him to a wide range of music other than metal, which was very confusing for him.Fast forward a few years down the line and he had been transformed from a lead guitarist into a singer/songwriter. No longer content to solo like a mad man for hours on end, he developed a love of songs and arrangements, a passion for chord movements and melodies & an ear for all manner of beautiful music.
2008 saw the release of Phil Baxter’s debut offering “At Last” – a 3 song EP blending jazz, funk, latin and pop to create exciting, vivid sounds with depth and energy.

Re: Joe's A2 Music Video
Hey Joe, it would be an honour to have you make a video for one of my tunes. I would love to see what you come up with, Phil Baxter.
